Leaving the reins to the next generation<\/h3>

Cleantech company DBO Expert, offering System O)) wastewater treatment systems, was sold to the incumbent General Manager, Nicolas Fournier, by its owner, Benoit Boucher, who will now focus on the growth of sales of the same product in international markets. The transaction was supported by the Centre Desjardins Entreprises Estrie and Desjardins Capital.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Sherbrooke-born Boucher co-founded the company in 2000 to distribute Advanced Enviro))Septic pipes. Over 20 years later, this company presents a very positive report \u2013 patented methods, multiple accreditations around the world and a well-established global presence. It is supported by a driven and determined team, whose members remain with the company after the sale.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cI am very proud of what we managed to do over the years, and as the company is in a good place, now\u2019s the time to leave the reins to the next generation,\u201d said Boucher, president and founder of DBO International. \u201cI can now focus on our international network with the creation of DBO International and spread the word about all the advantages that System O)) solutions offer.\u201d<\/p>

Growing rapidly since the launch of System O)) wastewater treatment systems in 2019, DBO Expert\u2019s sales revenue has risen sharply by 88% over the past three years, despite a rough economic context combining a pandemic, labour shortages and price increases. Positions are currently open, in engineering and among others, in its Sherbrooke offices or in the field.<\/p>

The new owner of DBO Expert, Nicolas Fournier, chartered accountant born in Sorel but well-established in Sherbrooke, worked for FilSpec for nearly 15 years, most recently as Director of Operations for its North Carolina plant. He took over as General Manager of DBO Expert in June 2020.<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

\u201cThe opportunity to buy a company like DBO Expert occurs but rarely in a career,\u201d said Fournier. \u201cI\u2019d like to thank Mr. Boucher for the trust he showed when he incorporated me into his succession plan. This last year as General Manager allowed me to integrate this new market and discover the strong team devoted to this company\u2019s success. It was a win-win situation!\u201d<\/p>

Recognised as a standard technology by the Bureau de normalisation du Qu\u00e9bec (BNQ), System O)) wastewater treatment systems are accredited by numerous organisations around the world. It was attributed the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution label, an award for clean and profitable solutions.<\/p>
